How to Make a Perfect Cut

by Marc on May 23, 2010

We are excited to present the first of a series of videos we’ll be doing over the next couple of months! I’ve been pushing Aimee to do this for the last two years! We’re going to try and keep them short and informative. We hope you find them helpful. Let us know what you think in the comments below or just send us an email.

Very well done! Filmed well and very clear directions. I didn’t know about lining up your ruler with a 12 1/2 inch square either. I can see how it would improve that first cut.
I’m looking forward to the next video.
Overall Quilters is such a great place to learn, shop, and visit friends.

Aimee…I am sooo delighted to see your blog..I have added it right away. I do not see where to click on to be a follower, but I will look again. This is sooo exciting. There is still time to put one of your quilts on the Blogging Festival. Click on my blog, oquilts.blogspot.com, then go to the “button” of the Bloggers festival, click on that and go to the site, click on Home and scroll down to see the instructions and the names of the entrants. It brings alot of people to your site. My entry is number 295 and I already have 22 comments from all around the world…This is so much fun. Thank you for the great tutorial. I learned!!! And you were good!! Diane

Aimee, I am so excited over this. As others I did not know to line up the ruler on the side of the fabric. Can’t wait for more tips. You know I love you and the shop. Great job!

Hi Aimee,
Good video but I would suggest that you lock your rotary cutter blade every time you put it down to move your hand or are finished with cutting to prevent accidents. Ask me how I know! ;-)

Aimee, That was a great video; clear and informative! I will be looking forward to the next one. Please plan on doing one on squaring the quilt – something I always have trouble with!

I’ll miss coming to your store but look forward to you online!

I have been struggling with getting the perfect cut, so your video and instruction has given me better confidence in knowing my cutting will be better.

To Elaine, did you see the type of rotary cutter Aimee is using? you should try one, they are awesome and you will never have an accident.

thank you for all you do!

Debbie
