Beach Cabana is a paper pieced quilt. A great project for those left over scraps. I’ll be teaching Beach Cabanas at the Myrtle Beach Quilt Party in Jan. You can purchase your pattern here.

We just added four new Floral Fling patterns to the Online Shop: Bird of Paradise, Cosmos, Magnolia and Poinsettia.

The Mid Carolina Shop hop starts on Tuesday, June 22. Participating  shops will be open from 10:00am to 7:00pm, Tuesday through Saturday.

Each shop will be demonstrating something different. We’ll be demonstrating Fusible Applique’ and flower making techniques.

Remember you must have your passport stamped at each shop to be illegible for the grand prize: a $1100 gift certificate. That’s a $100 gift certificate from each shop, plus there are several additional grand prizes and each shop has lots of  door prizes.

We’ve added the first 12 Floral Fling patterns in our brand new online shop! In the coming weeks we will be adding 4 new Floral Fling patterns and items featured in our videos.

Join us on Saturday, June 12th, for our closing the Store Front Auction. The auction will start promptly at 2:00pm and end at 5:00pm. We’ll be auctioning books, patterns, notions, fixtures, and what ever is left in fabric.

They look gorgeous. I’m so excited! We have pattern covers for the Floral Fling. Patti brought them over last night. We debut in 3 weeks.

We will be closing early today, Friday April 30th to set up for the Quilting and Needle Craft Expo in Albermarle. We’ll be open regular hours this weekend. Be sure to come out and visit us at the Expo!

Calling all kids 8 years and older. Join us for 2010′s Kids Summer Camp. This year Lillian Giles will head the camp. Sign up for 1 session or 2 sessions, projects include a draw string bag, floppy hat, PJ shorts, a quilted frog and a small quilt.

Dates and projects as follows:

• Session One: July 19th through the 22nd. Projects include a draw string bag, Floppy Hat, and PJ shorts. Class will start at 9:00am and end at 12:00pm.
• Session Two: July 26th through the 29th. Projects include a stuffed quilted frog and a small quilt. Class hours are also 9:00am to 12:00pm.

We’ll repeat the sessions in August, dates as follows:

• Session One- August 2nd through the 5th
• Session Two- August 9th through the 12th

Each Session will be $75 plus kits. Basic sewing supplies include the following:
Sewing  Machine in good working order, please bring manual, Glass Head Pins, small scissors, seam ripper, and neutral thread.

Kit fee for Session One is $35, kit includes all fabrics for each project
Kit fee for Session Two is $35, kit includes all fabrics for frog and top of quilt (backing and batting not included).

We do ask that the student know how to operate their sewing Machine. Please make sure the student has had a snack prior to start of class.

This gorgeous white, black and red quilt can be made up to a queen size. A very effective one block quilt. This pattern is easy to read and fast to make. Look for it as a class in April.

Passports are in, stop in at any participating shop and pick up your passport. Passports are $5 each and include a shop hop pin. All participating shops will be open from 10:00am to 7:00pm. Pick up your passports at participating shops starting on April 2nd.
11 shops, 5 days, a mystery and lots of demos. The first annual Mid Carolina Run Shop Hop will be from Tuesday, June 22 through Saturday, June 26, 2010.
It is just $5 to participate! Simply pick up a passport at any of the 11 participating shops. Have your passport stamped at each shop you visit. Make sure to leave your passport at the final shop visited. Daily door prizes at each participating shop.
Find the missing Block! It’s a mystery quilt, pick up a block clue from each shop to find the missing 12th block! Don’t forget to get your passport stamped at each shop for a chance to be the grand prize winner of over $1100.
