Is the Dresden Plate pattern for the December 5 & 12 class a new pattern or just a variation devised by Corinne Schroeder?

This pattern is from a book called Thoroughly Modern Dresden, this quilt is even more beautiful when you see it in person. Hope you can make it to class!
